Dr. Joe Vitale: Best-selling Author

Dr. Joe Vitale is a best-selling author and metaphysician who has written several books on business, marketing, and success, including The Art and Science of Results, Money Loves Speed and the upcoming The Fifth Phrase: The Next Ho’oponopono and Zero Limits Healing Stage.

Could you describe what a metaphysician is and what attracted you to this profession? Is this something you’ve always wanted to do?

I’m an author first and foremost. My work as a metaphysician is to live my life with clarity and inspiration, and to help people achieve their dreams. The metaphysician side of me is part of what I do, and it appears in my writing, speaking, songs, and more. It’s not a day job. It’s my life.

I am not a metaphysician by profession, but by practice. My profession is being an “inspirator” to the world; to inspire people. I’ve always wanted to live spiritually connected life, and I get to do that as a metaphysician who writes and speaks to the globe about pursuing your dreams.

Your latest book, The Fifth Phrase: The Next Ho’oponopono and Zero Limits Healing Stage, came out in January 2021. Tell us more about the book, and the concept of “Ho’oponopono”.

Ho’oponopono is a Hawaiian healing practice that I brought to the world with my first book, Zero Limits. It’s a simple process based on love and forgiveness, yet triggers healings and miracles for millions worldwide. My second book on it was called AT Zero. My third book is the one coming out, The Fifth Phrase. The new book goes beyond all the others. This introduces a new dimension to ho’oponopono and in many ways eliminates the need for the basic four phrases that so many have learned to use from the first two books.

You’ve written many inspiring books. If you could select one key message or piece of advice you’d want to share with your audience, what would that be and why?

The Miracle is now. We are all looking for something to fulfill us, not knowing that we will constantly seek more. We need to awaken to the power and purpose of this moment. When we live out of this moment, life works. We are happy, and we experience the miracle of right now. I believe the most important thing I can teach is that everything you seek is right here, right now. And it only gets better from here.

In one of the pictures on your website there is an aphorism that says, “Money loves speed.” What does that mean?

It’s my insight that when someone receives an idea, and acts on it fast, they tend to be rewarded financially. I wrote a book called Attract Money Now that explains this at length. Basically, the Universe and money like fast action.

Why did people start calling you “Mr. Fire”?

Decades ago a woman I knew started calling me “Mr. Fire” When I asked why, she said I lit a fire under people to go for their dreams. “You’re always inspiring people”, she said. “You’re Mr. Fire!” The name stuck. I made it my website at www.mrfire.com

You are known as the world’s first self-help singer-songwriter. How do you go about writing lyrics?

I am still learning how to write songs. Songs come out of the blue. Some are structured to deliver a message; each is different in how it arrives. Sometimes holding a different guitar inspires a song that seems to come from it. I find the whole process fascinating, and I’m still swimming through it, learning as I go and grow.

Some of your music has also been nominated for the Posi Award, known for recognizing positive and empowering music. What achievements are you most proud of?

There have been too many to list. My books being bestsellers, such as The Attractor Factor. One book, Zero Limits, generating tens of thousands of followers; speaking in Russia and Peru. Having my audio programs become bestsellers, like The Missing Secret. Writing songs that got nominated for awards. Being on Larry King and Donny Deutsch’s TV shows. These are all huge successes. But helping my father become an author when he turned 90 was also a mega moment. I urged him to write his life story; he recorded it on transcripts, and I turned it into a book. He is forever grateful, and I am forever proud.

In your opinion, what are some crucial qualities required to be a successful business owner/entrepreneur?

They need a compelling vision to motivate themselves and engage prospects or employees. People want to be part of something bigger than just a dollar. They want a vision or mission. It’s also important that they are internally clear of limiting beliefs about success or deservedness.

What effects have the pandemic had on your business? On you personally?

The last two years have been the worst of my entire life. The pandemic wiped out all my travels, speaking gigs, and biggest income. On top of that, my father died, a family member attempted suicide, my best friend died, and I filed for divorce, which led to a two year persecution of my life and business. Add to that the fact that my new partner developed neuro Lyme disease and required constant care by me. It’s been a challenge, to say the least. I’ve had to learn to truly focus on the moment, on gratitude, and on building a future based on what’s available right now. My new motto is, one day at a time, it’s all fine.

The pandemic gave my business as a worldwide speaker a full stop. Everything live was cancelled. I’ve had to adjust to a new way of being in business. Thanks to the online world, events still happen, but virtually. Instead of going to Milan recently for an event, the event was moved online and I presented from my home, virtually. There’s far less money, but also far less wear and tear from travel. Of course, I haven’t seen family or friends during this time either, but we stay in touch thanks to the online world.

I’m active on social media. Follow me on Instagram @DrJoeVitale.

What advice can you give to our readers who, due to COVID-19, social isolation and accompanying hardships, may be feeling discouraged or additional stress?

I see the pandemic as a “Divine Blessing.” It has forced us to reflect, reconnect, meditate and contemplate. Thanks to the Internet, none of us have to be alone or without income. You can communicate online. You can create online. You can start an online business, in a wide variety of ways. As with everything in life, your perception creates the experience of lack or of abundance. You get to choose how you see it.
